As per the findings of this study, the birth control pills will not damage or negatively affect the memory, but they push women to remember and recollect information in a different way.

The women who use contraceptive pills remember the gist of an emotional event, while the ones who don’t use the pills will retain more details and information.

Shawn Nielsen, one of the researchers has said, “”What’s most exciting about this study is that it shows use of hormonal contraception alters memory.”

As per the new study conducted by the British scientists, the babies of the obese mothers are at a higher life risk. Scientists from England carried out the study on over 41,000 pregnant women from the year 2003 to 2005.

According to the findings of this study, the babies of the mothers whose BMI is above 30, carries two times higher risk of life than the babies of the mothers who aren’t overweight.

Infant death is a common problem among many countries. However, in this study, the infant/fetal death percentage of the normal weight women was found to be 0.9%, which is about 9 in 1000 women. On the other hand, the infant death rate has jumped up to 1.6% among the women who has a BMI of 30 or above.

Though the researchers couldn’t give a clear explanation about the link between fetal/infant deaths and the obesity, this study findings have clearly showed the negative impact of the obesity on pregnancy.

Research author, Judith Rankin said, “There are likely to be a number of reasons why obesity is associated with fetal and infant death and we don’t yet know the full story.”

Doctors around the globe are suggesting women to maintain a perfect weight before they become pregnant. Overweight during pregnancy can pose serious health risks to both the mother and child.

New Zealand is among the countries which has a higher rate of abortions. According to the local health experts, the contraceptive options in the country are outdated. They feel the local culture and other social factors are playing their part in increasing number of abortions.

The health care experts feel some of the popular contraceptive options available in the countries like United States and United Kingdom are not yet available for the people of New Zealand.

This study was conducted on 11,500 mothers and the researchers questioned both the mothers and their children. The research team gathered the information on the drinking habits of the mothers during pregnancy, and they also tested their children for any behavioral problems.

According to this study, a ‘drink’ means a small quantity of wine or a pint of beer. This study was conducted in UK under the guidance Yvonny Kelly, PhD., University College London.

Most of the doctors around globe normally suggest women to give up drinking during pregnancy.

Now doctors around the world are responding strongly to this study, and are expressing their concern over the possible misinterpretation of the study.

Healthcare experts feel this study might just become a license for woman who finds it hard to avoid drinking during the pregnancy.

Now this research has shown mothers who breastfeed their babies for relatively longer times are less likely to develop the type 2 diabetes. This means, mothers who don’t breastfeed their babies are likely to develop the diabetes risk twice more than that of the mothers who breastfeed.

By breastfeeding babies, mothers will lose weight they have added during the pregnancy. If a women stop breastfeeding their babies, the chances are high that she retains the fat in the body that was added during the pregnancy.

Often fat is linked to many obesity related diseases. Excess weight is one of the key causes of diabetes in people. So, when moms breastfeed their babies, they are less likely to develop the risk of diabetes.

The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that new mothers should breastfeed their babies for at least 6 months. According to the surveys, only 14% of the new mothers breastfeed their babies for 6 months or more!

This research was led by Dr. Eleanor Bimla Schwarz from the University of Pittsburgh.

Natazia is a four phase birth control pill and it’s first of its kind in United States. FDA conducted a study on 1867 women and received positive feedback from them. FDA confirmed Natazia as an effective contraceptive pill, but didn’t ruled out the common problems that comes with contraceptive oral pills.

A doctor from FDA has told, “Nearly 12 million women in the United States and more than 100 million women worldwide currently use oral contraceptives.”

“The approval of Natazia provides another option for women who choose to use an oral contraceptive as their method of contraception,” He added.
