Fish oil diet could effectively fight chemotherapy weight loss
Weight loss and muscle loss are the two common problems that cancer patients face during the chemotherapy process. The cancer patients who undergo the chemotherapy treatment normally suffer the weight and muscle loss.
This chemo process can eventually let the cancer patients lose muscle tissue and make them weak which further leads to fatigue and downfall of the life span.
Now researchers at University of Alberta, Canada, have found that the amino acids present in the fish oil can help cancer patients to maintain or regain their muscle mass.
Researchers conducted this study on some cancer patients in which some were given fish oil in their diet and others were on a placebo.
As per the finding of this study, the group of people who were given fish oil in their diet were able to increase or maintain their muscle mass loss. On the other hand, the patients who were not on a fish oil diet have lost about an average of 2.3 kg of muscle mass.
