The weight loss reality shows have grown in huge popularity in the countries like United States, United Kingdom, Australia and few other developed countries. These reality shows not only earning big money for the production houses, but also helping the contestants lose weight who are seriously overweight or obese. In addition, these reality weight loss shows strongly influence people to follow the weight loss techniques adopted and executed by the contestants.
Well, if you are one of those who depict the reality weight loss shows’ diet plans or exercises, you may be putting yourself in troubles.
Following or copying extreme weight loss plans followed by the contestants in the reality weight loss shows such as “The Biggest Loser” could prove fatal, according to Brian Morton, an Australian medical expert.
According to Brian, the stroke risk is higher could be higher in people who are smokers, or whose family history isn’t great.
Many fitness experts and dieticians are also warning people not to follow the extreme exercises shown in the TV shows.
Karen Inge, a popular Australia based dietician has reminded people about the monitoring the contestants get from the professionals. She said replicating the feats shown in the reality shows could be life threatening.
Doing strenuous workouts or following extreme weight loss diet without the guidance or monitoring of fitness experts is not advisable to any, importantly to obese people.
