Sleepless nights burn few extra calories, says a weight loss study
Sleep plays an important role losing weight, without which it’s very hard to achieve the weight loss goals.
Now, according to a new study conducted at Colorado’s Sleep and Chronobiology Laboratory, lack of sleep can burn calories as well!
As per the findings of the study, a sleepless night can burn as many as 135 calories, which is equivalent to a 2 mile walk (spending) or a glass of milk (intake).
This study doesn’t describe sleep deprivation as a way to lose weight, but they have found out some interesting facts about it when they conducted the study on some young adults.

It’s a known fact that the body does store energy while we are sleeping. But this study has shown us how the human body stores energy (more than what we earlier thought).
Speaking about the study, Professor Kenneth Wright said, “The amount of energy storage needed to explain the obesity epidemic is 50 calories a day, so the finding is meaningful.”
